MIY Vision and Goals

04 – Set Your Milestones in Advance

Goals don’t mean a thing unless you take action to make them real. The toughest part for many people is taking the first step. But what comes next after that?

You should have already established your one big goal for the year. The exercise for this lesson is to set monthly milestones to mark your progress. Can you estimate what your half-way point will look like? Your should aim to reach that by June.

But keep in mind that there might be some prep work that needs to be done before you start really gaining traction toward your goal. Maybe July is more realistic.

Always, though, be open to the possibility of change. Sometimes you might need to make a course correction or two along the way. Just decide ahead of time that you will not allow yourself to be discouraged.

Are you enjoying your daily emails from me? They are designed to keep you motivated through the difficult times, the potholes in the road, or the turbulence in your flight.

So, take a look at your big goal for the year and write an action plan. Think about what you’ll need to accomplish each month to achieve it. Fill in these monthly goals on the Brainstorming Goals Page of your MIY Weekly Planner.
